Yes, your vehicle will be protected by the carrier’s cargo insurance. Additionally, Dispatch Dudes maintains our own contingent cargo insurance which safeguards your vehicle for up to $250,000 should the trucker’s policy fail to fully cover a valid claim.
Prepare keys: You must provide a set of keys to the driver during vehicle pickup.
Clean your vehicle: We recommend washing your vehicle before pickup. This allows both you and the driver to easily inspect your car for any scratches, dents, or damage. You’ll complete the Bill of Lading (BOL) with this inspection at both pickup and delivery.
Fuel requirements: Ensure your gas tank is approximately 1/4 full. A full tank adds unnecessary weight to your vehicle and the car carrier. Electric vehicles should maintain a 45-65% battery charge.
Exterior preparation: Lower or remove your antenna and store it in your trunk. Take off your bike rack and any aftermarket accessories.
Remove personal items: Take out vehicle additions like custom stereos and GPS systems. You may leave one box or suitcase weighing under 100lbs in the trunk or storage compartment.
Toll equipment: Remove all parking passes or toll tags to prevent charges as your car travels through toll areas. You’ll be liable for resolving any fees accumulated during transport.
If you need to update your timeframe at any time, contact your Dispatch Dudes shipping expert.
In the auto transport industry, the Bill of Lading (BOL) serves to document the vehicle’s condition during pickup and delivery. This makes the BOL the most critical document throughout the transportation process. Prior to signing any BOL, please verify that you agree with the recorded condition of the vehicle.
