Our Credentials, and How to Verify Them Yourself
Most auto transport companies ask you to trust them. We'd rather you checked.
We're a broker. Here's exactly what that means.
We don’t own trucks and we don’t employ drivers — FMCSA lists us with zero power units, and that’s correct. We hold federal broker authority to arrange transport, and we match your vehicle to a vetted carrier already running your route. That’s why our pricing beats a single fleet’s: we aren’t paying to keep our own trucks full.
What you get because of it: before pickup we send you the assigned carrier’s company name, USDOT number and certificate of insurance. If you can’t verify who is physically collecting your car, don’t hand over the keys — to us or to anyone else.
What we check on every carrier
- Active FMCSA operating authority, verified at dispatch — not at signup
- Current cargo insurance certificate on file, named and dated
- Safety rating and out-of-service history reviewed
- No carrier is assigned to a customer vehicle until all three clear
Insurance
Cargo coverage is carried by the assigned carrier, from $100,000 to $450,000+ depending on trailer and vehicle class. We don’t insure your car ourselves — no broker does, and any broker claiming otherwise is worth a second look.
Damage is documented on the Bill of Lading at both pickup and delivery. Photograph your vehicle at both ends; that record is what a claim rests on.
Payment terms
No deposit until a carrier is assigned and their credentials have been sent to you. Balance due on delivery. Any company demanding payment in full up front — or asking for wire transfer, gift cards or crypto — is running a known scam pattern.
Common questions
How do I know a car shipping company is legitimate?
Look up their USDOT and MC numbers on the FMCSA SAFER database and confirm the status is active and authorized. Ours are USDOT 3446819 and MC-1120978. Check for a real physical address, not just a webmail contact, and get the quote and terms in writing before anything is paid.
What's the difference between a broker and a carrier?
A carrier owns the trucks and employs the drivers. A broker holds federal authority to arrange transport and assigns a vetted carrier to your job. We’re a broker — FMCSA lists us with zero power units. Most national auto transport companies are brokers; what matters is whether they tell you which they are, and disclose the assigned carrier before pickup.
How reliable is car shipping?
The variable isn’t the broker, it’s the assigned carrier. Ask three things before booking: is the quoted price locked or subject to change, when will the carrier’s details be shared, and what’s the pickup window rather than the pickup date.
